We are excited to say that on April 4 we officially opened Kollaboratoriet Uppsala as part of the Uppsala pilot for Live Baltic Campus!
Kollaboratoriet Uppsala is a physical space located in central Uppsala overlooking the river. A multi-purpose space for different types of activities and events – collaborations, crossing boundaries, and developing ideas for a better world.
Kollaboratoriet Uppsala is a space for
– Meeting, dialogue and discussion
– An exhibition space
– Making, building, prototyping
– Working across boundaries and with complex problems
Kollaboratoriet Uppsala works these goals in mind
– Opening new, valuable channels between academia and civil society
– Crossovers of science, art and culture in the shadow of global challenges and transitions
– Supporting new pathways for social innovation towards sustainable futures

TUESDAY 4 APRIL 16:15 – 18:00
OFFICIAL OPENING AND A CONVERSATION WITH BERT DE VRIES, KEVIN ANDERSON AND JOSEFIN WANGEL.
Kollaboratoriet official opening around 60 people joined the opening to visit the new space and imagine some possibilities for events and collaborations here. They joined a ‘public conversation’ with climate, energy and global change researcher Bert de Vries, futues researcher at KTH, Zensström Professor in Climate Change Leadership at UU Kevin Anderson and Associate Professor in Sustainable Urban Development, Josefin Wangel. Also visitors got a taste of the Acclimatize exhibition, with a short introduction from Ylva Dalgren from Moderna Museet Stockholm (The Stockholm Modern Art Museum).
WEDNESDAY 5 APRIL, 8:15 – 9:00
LAUNCH OF ”FRUKOSTMÖTEN PÅ KOLLABORATORIET” WITH ANNELI EKBLOM (IN SWEDISH)
During the spring we will launch “Breakfasts at Kollaboratoriet” – a meeting place between academia and civil society. At the first breakfast meeting our guest is Anneli Ekblom, director at Uppsala Center for Sustainable development, she will present around the topic “Building bridges or walls? The relationship between academia and civil society”.

‘CALM EMERGENCY’ EXHIBITION INCLUDING WORKS FROM ACCLIMATIZE
Kollaboratoriet Uppsala is transformed into an art installation that you can walk completely into. Gaze up, down and around you at the best climate science humans can produce in an unexpected shape. Experience a calm emergency.

Also on display were works from Moderna Museet Stockholm’s ‘Acclimatize’. During 2016-2017, citizens, artists, authors and humans from many parts of the world contributed their responses to existence under the shadow of a changing climate. Acclimatize is now available as a think tank, a source of inspiration full of ideas and reflections on climate change.
